WisdomTree Prime / Connect

NAMERtokenized mmfproductionOperator: WisdomTreeIssuance unverified

WisdomTree's tokenisation rails: WisdomTree Prime as the US-regulated consumer wallet for retail users, WisdomTree Connect as the institutional and intermediary-distribution rail. Issuer of the first SEC-registered tokenised retail-grade '40-Act fund (WTGXX, the Government Money Market Digital Fund) under SEC exemptive relief that extended Securitize-pattern share-register-on-chain mechanics into a retail-distributed wrapper.

Operating details

How it actually settles
Architecture

Two distribution surfaces. WisdomTree Prime is a US-regulated consumer wallet and brokerage interface where US users hold WisdomTree Digital Fund tokens, stablecoins, and (in some configurations) other tokenised assets. WisdomTree Connect is the institutional and intermediary-distribution rail for the same Digital Fund product set. The structural design is that retail users access the funds through Prime, institutional users through Connect, and the underlying share register is the on-chain whitelist record in both cases. The Digital Fund product set is broader than just a single MMF: WisdomTree has registered tokenised digital funds across multiple strategies including WTGXX (the flagship Government Money Market Digital Fund), with the wallet accommodating tokenised stablecoins and other on-chain assets alongside the in-house funds.

Participants

WisdomTree (USD 100B+ AUM) · Securitize (early platform reference) · Stellar (deployment chain) · Ethereum (deployment chain) · Avalanche (deployment chain) · Multiple US broker-dealer and RIA partners through WisdomTree Connect

Scale

WisdomTree-wide AUM crossed USD 100 billion as of 2025; the Digital Funds segment is a smaller subset of total firm AUM. WTGXX was the first SEC-registered tokenised retail-grade '40-Act fund. Specific Digital Funds AUM and Prime account-holder figures are not consistently consolidated publicly.

Regulatory wrapper

WTGXX is registered under the 1940 Act as a US government money market fund, with the WisdomTree transfer-agent function operating the on-chain share register under SEC exemptive relief. Prime operates as a US-regulated consumer wallet and brokerage interface; Connect is the institutional and intermediary-distribution rail. Distinct from BUIDL's 3(c)(7) wrapper because the WTGXX structure permits retail-grade distribution.

Known limits

Prime is US-only; non-US distribution runs through different channels. The WisdomTree Connect institutional-rail integrations are progressing rather than at the scale of BUIDL or FOBXX institutional-distribution depth. Liquidity and use as collateral on third-party DeFi venues is constrained by the whitelist-gating model.
