Ben Gully


Ben Gully was appointed Secretary General of the Basel Committee on 17 March 2026 for a three-year term starting August 2026. He comes from the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) in Canada, where he is currently Deputy Superintendent. The Secretary General role leads the Basel Committee's Secretariat and is the operational counterpart to the Committee Chair, with substantial influence over agenda-setting and the pace of standard-setting work, including the targeted review of SCO60 (the bank crypto-asset prudential standard) that is being expedited per GHOS endorsement.
